One of the previous owners decided that they would cover the dash and instrument pod with a plastic cover and as you can see it had warped terribly probably from heat / sun exposure. I couldn't stand the way it looked so it had to go, but when I got it off and saw what was underneath I questioned my decision.
After I pulled all that warped plastic covering off, there was no leather
underneath. The dash and instrument pod had cracks of course and were covered in globs of sealant. I ended up using Bondo to fill in the cracks and sanded it down real good then I spray painted the whole dash with sand-able primer and sanded it smooth. I spray painted it all with a top coat of black auto
exterior paint. It was a lot of work but it looks much better then it did before. Below are some pictures of the process.
